New NHS guidance on addressing concerns

New NHS guidance on addressing concerns

9 Nov 2009

The NHS has issued interim guidance for its managers on addressing patient concerns under the new NHS Wales structure. The guidance has been published under the Welsh Assembly Government’s project Putting things right which was set up in 2007 to review the way in which the NHS responds to people who have concerns and how to provide redress when things go wrong.

The new guidance calls for managers to review the organisational structure and accountability arrangements, more robust investigations and learning, provides guidance on how to handle and review requests for exceptional funding, dealing with primary care complaints, advocacy, support and facilitation and monitoring and reporting arrangements.
