Second Measure passed by the Assembly
6 Oct 2008
On Tuesday the 1st October the Learner Traveller (Wales) Measure was approved following a detailed discussion of a series of amendments in a Plenary Session of the Assembly. The Conservative Party proposed a series of amendments as they considered the Measure did not go far enough to secure the safety of pupils travelling on public transport. The Minister had concluded that the NAW did not have the legislative competence to make a wider provision and that there was need for continuing discussion with Whitehall as to the acquisition of further powers to enable the NAW to go any further.
