Assembly Consultation on Community Councils

Assembly Legislation Committee No.2 is consulting on a draft LCO which, if passed, will give the Assembly the power to make legislation relating to Community Councils in Wales.

The draft National Assembly for Wales Legislative Competence (Local Government) Order relates to community councils and councillor recruitment, retention and allowances. The National Assembly for Wales currently does not have the power to make new laws in relation to the constitution, structure and responsibilities of community councils.

Interested parties and members of the public are invited to submit evidence by Friday, September 18.
